This has taken the form of global marches and campaigns, including #MeToo and #TimesUp on issues ranging from sexual harassment and femicide to equal pay and women’s political representation.

“This is Ethel, my beautiful Grandmother.  I am truly blessed to know this amazing lady, who just yesterday finished a novel of her life with my Grandfather.  I am the person I am because of her; she taught me how to be patient and kind and not take any bull.  Many years ago she sent me two quotes which I  have framed and hang on wall next to photos of my children. I read these two quotes often and believe she has lived her life this way. Growing up I always felt her strength, her unconditional love for me and my sisters. Although time has taken its toll on her physically, she doesn’t complain, she stays active seeing her friends and organizing card games.  And most every day, she shares her thoughts and wisdom with me through email. Yes, my Grandmother emails me.  So, on National Women’s Day, I celebrate Ethel- my inspiration.”
